In August 2001, TerraNet launched a 2-day voting campaign on
its homepage through changing its design, to help UNICEF collect votes from
people concerning issues related to
the Children in Lebanon.
Worldwide, UNICEF had launched this movement with the "Say Yes for Children"
Campaign, allowing people to improve the lives of children and adolescents by voting for 3 imperative actions and responsibilities out of 10
critical issues.
Every young voice silenced by poverty, disease, war, abuse or discrimination was
a call for global action.
The vote on www.terra.net.lb , in which TerraNet customers participated,
concerned the same world "Global Movement for Children" calling all the leaders
of the world to work jointly in saving Children's rights and in putting an end to
Children's and adolescents discrimination.
People of all ages, social backgrounds, and political affiliations joined
together, determined to build a better world for the children.
Vote results were collected and presented by the Secretary General,
Mr. Kofi Anan, to the special session at the UN General Assembly in
September 2001.
TerraNet staff and customers said YES
for the children!
