Ever since 1992, under the patronage of the ‘General Directorate of youth and
Sport’, united sports of Lebanon, sole distributor of Nike in Lebanon, has been
organizing 4 gross root events to encourage the youth in Lebanon to play sport.
From a shy 8 schools tournament in 1992, NISL has grown to hold today 37
schools; in fact, more than 5000 students of all ages and both genders have
competed on weekends this year in 4 disciplines. USL’s purpose from these
activities is to develop the love of sport and spirit of Fair Play in the Lebanese
youth.
TerraNet sponsored NISL 99-00 that was launched on Dec. 8th, 1999 by the
Cross Country race and ended on May 20th, 2000 by the Mini- Football
tournament passing by the Basketball and Track & Field competitions. These
activities took place at the Antonins De Baabda stadium and the Sadakah
Basketball court and under the supervision of the relevant federation. Around
5,000 students, from 37 schools and age ranging from 10 to 18 years old from
both genders (males & females) participated in the event.
