During the first week of December 1999, TerraNet had launched a Special Web
Page entitled “Best Figure of the Century”. The aim of that page was to allow
Internet Users to elect their Favorite 20th Century Lebanese Figure.
After 3 consecutive weeks of voting, the results for TerraNet’s Figure of the
Century came as follows:
Mr. Rafik El-Hariri, Deputy for Beirut, came first in the Political and Religious
category with 41% of votes.
As for the Social Figures Category, Poet and Writer Gebran Khalil Gebran took
the lead with 26% of votes.
We would like to thank all the users who visited these pages and voted, and a
special thanks to all those who sent us corrections and new information
regarding the Lebanese personalities.
